What we collect

When you just read

Standard analytics, if analytics is enabled on the site: pages viewed, approximate location at country or city level, device and browser type, referring site, and whether an outbound buy link was clicked. This is aggregate traffic data. We do not attempt to identify individual readers and we do not build profiles.

When you contact us

The name, email address, topic and message you submit through the contact form. Those are used to reply to you and nothing else. Messages are delivered to our mailbox by email and are not stored in a separate database on this site.

What we never collect

• Payment details. Every purchase happens on the retailer's site, not here.
• Accounts, passwords or logins. There are none.
• Health information. Do not send us medical details — we cannot advise on them.
• Newsletter subscriptions. We do not run a mailing list, so you cannot be added to one.

Cookies and similar technologies

Deskstance sets no advertising cookies and runs no ad network. Two categories of cookie may be present:

• Analytics. If Google Analytics is enabled, it sets cookies to distinguish repeat visits. You can block these in your browser with no effect on the site.
• Affiliate attribution. When you click a buy link, the retailer sets its own cookie on its own domain so a resulting purchase is credited to us. That cookie belongs to the retailer and is governed by the retailer's privacy policy — for Amazon purchases, by Amazon's.

Third parties

• Vercel hosts the site and processes standard server request logs.
• Google Analytics may be used for aggregate traffic measurement.
• Amazon and other retailers receive you when you click a buy link, at which point their privacy policies apply.
• Microsoft handles delivery of contact form messages to our mailbox.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond what is described above.

Outbound links

Buy links pass through a redirect on this domain before reaching the retailer. That redirect exists to keep the affiliate tag in one place and to verify the destination actually belongs to the merchant — the disclosure explains it in full. It records that a click happened, not who clicked.

Retention

Contact messages are kept in our mailbox for as long as needed to handle the conversation and any follow-up, then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to the analytics provider's own default retention settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold, and to object to certain processing. Since the only personal information we hold is what you send us in a message, exercising those rights is straightforward: email contact@deskstance.com and we will act on it.

You can opt out of analytics at any time using your browser's settings or an extension, and the site will work exactly the same.

Children

This site is intended for adults buying office furniture. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the last-updated date at the top of this page changes with it.
